Understanding that the modern lifestyle is trending towards a dietary path of quick, convenient fixes, Blndr was created to help move past this "line" of thinking, and do the dietary homework for you. With a passion for an all-natural lifestyle, Blndr juices provide customers a healthy and nutritious alternative without compromising on ingredients or taste.

Situated on Toronto’s waterfront, Blndr had a location and a name but nothing else.
The objective was to create a brand that exudes health and wellness.

Exploration

Blndr wanted to create a logo that was recognizable and could stand on its own. Understanding their business, vision, and products, we spent time sketching concepts that were truly unique.

Through iconography, we found a creative way to convey the “blending” process of the ingredients. Our logo device uses horizontal lines to showcase the colours of the ingredients found within it.

Colours

The colour palette for Blndr was influenced by the location and ingredients used. With the store being so close to Toronto’s waterfront the colours chosen reflect the bright, fun atmosphere of a sunny day. Additionally, with Blndr’s healthy and fruity ingredients, the colours not only achieve the beach vibe, but also, reflects the natural ingredients present in each smoothie.

 

Typography

Blndr strives on being a healthy choice for smoothie lovers. It was important to find that typography that was easy to read and felt natural to a viewer. Pairing Galano Grotesque and Helvetica Neue achieved the objective of clean, rounded, playful typography with professional legibility.

 

The Fine Details

The subtle nuances within a logo can be the deciding factor that takes a brand from good to great. Blndr uses simple ingredients to make delicious smoothies that are vibrant and revitalizing. The simplicity of what goes into their product lead us to the simple cup design. The subtle benefits and nuances of those very same ingredients lead to the intricacies of the word mark.

To the naked eye the letters in the word mark seem like standard typography. Where in reality, some of the letters were modified in an effort to make the brand unique.

The finial on the “L” was given a playful flick to portray the fun, active, and vibrant personality that Blndr wants to showcase.

The terminal of the “R” was cut to match the angle of the cup to create unity between the logo and the icon and improve the logo’s ability to stand on its own.
